How to use a resume example
An example resume is a reference, not a template. The goal is to see how a strong resume is structured for a specific role and experience level — not to copy its content into your own.
- Look at the structure first. What order are the sections in? Where does the strongest evidence sit? What gets the most space?
- Study the bullets. How does each bullet start? What evidence does it include? What would you swap for your own experience?
- Adapt the format, not the words. If you copy the wording, your resume will read like the sample. Use the structure as scaffolding and write your own bullets.
- Check the length. Most examples are one page. Yours probably should be too unless you have substantial additional material.
Once you have your own draft, use the ATS Checker and Keyword Optimizer to review it against a real job description before applying.
