Tool

Free ATS Resume Checker

Paste your resume text and, optionally, a job description. This tool checks for common formatting risks, section headings, contact details, and keyword match against the job description. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Tip: if you have already built a resume in the Advoke CV builder, use the button to load it.

1. Your resume text

Paste the plain text of your resume (select all, copy, paste). If you are loading from the builder, use the button above.

2. Job description (optional)

Add the job description to compare keywords. Recommended — a huge part of ATS relevance is keyword match, not just formatting.

Keyword match

Matched and missing keywords based on the job description. Only add terms you can honestly support in an interview.

What this tool checks — and what it does not

Checks: presence of standard section headings (Summary, Experience, Education, Skills), consistent date formats, contact details, bullet count, word count, placeholder text, and keyword match against a job description.

Does not check: the visual layout of your exported PDF (tables, text boxes and images cannot be detected from pasted text), the specific ATS software used by any employer, or any actual hiring outcome.

Formatting is only one variable in ATS relevance. Keyword match, the specific ATS product, and the recruiter's search terms all affect your visibility. No tool can guarantee an ATS pass or an interview.
