Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 January 2025. This policy explains what data Advoke CV processes when you use the site, and what it does not.

1. Summary

Advoke CV is a static, browser-based website. It does not require an account. It does not upload your resume content to any server. Resume data that you enter into the resume builder is stored locally in your browser and remains on your device.

2. What data is processed

2.1 Information stored in your browser

When you use the Advoke CV resume builder or tools, certain information is stored locally in your browser (using the browser's localStorage feature):

  • Resume content you enter (name, contact details, experience, education, skills, etc.).
  • Your selected template and preferences.
  • Any cover letter drafts, job tracker entries, or similar tool data you create.
  • A theme preference (light or dark) if you toggle it.

This data is stored in your browser only. It is not transmitted to Advoke CV's servers. You can clear it at any time using the "Clear" button in the resume builder, or by clearing site data in your browser settings.

2.2 Technical data processed by the hosting provider

Advoke CV is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL as part of serving pages and protecting against abuse. This processing is described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy. Advoke CV does not have access to this data at an individual level.

2.3 Data you send via email

If you use the contact form to email Advoke CV, the message is delivered through your own email client. The email address and message content you send will be received by the site owner for the purpose of replying to you. Those messages are stored in the owner's email inbox in the normal way.

3. Third-party services

As of the date of this policy, Advoke CV uses the following third-party services:

  • Cloudflare Pages for hosting.
  • Google AdSense, only if advertising is enabled by the site owner after account approval. AdSense may set cookies and process data as described in Google's Privacy & Terms. Advoke CV does not serve ads by default; the ad configuration is disabled until the site owner explicitly enables it.
  • Optional analytics: if the site owner enables self-hosted analytics, it is described on this page at that time. Any analytics package must respect the Do Not Track signal and user consent requirements for your region.

Advoke CV does not embed third-party tracking pixels, social media embeds, or remote font services by default.

4. Cookies

Advoke CV's own tools do not set tracking cookies. Some preferences are stored in localStorage rather than cookies. If advertising is enabled (via Google AdSense) or analytics are enabled (by the site owner), those services may set cookies; the details are covered in the cookie policy.

5. Your rights

Because Advoke CV does not store your resume data on a server, most data rights are exercised directly in your browser:

  • Access: your data is visible in the resume builder at any time.
  • Export: you can export your resume data as JSON from the resume builder.
  • Deletion: you can clear all saved data with the "Clear" button in the resume builder, or by clearing browser site data.
  • Correction: you can edit your data directly in the builder.

6. Children's privacy

Advoke CV is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because Advoke CV does not run a server that stores personal information, there is no server-side record of usage to delete.

7. International transfers

Because Advoke CV runs in your browser, your resume data does not leave your device. Cloudflare, as a global hosting provider, may process technical data in various regions; its privacy policy covers those transfers.

8. Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in the site. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will change when material revisions are made. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
